Karen's Snow & Mow Inc. is a local, family-run Winnipeg business that my husband, Mark, and I have operated since 2013. What began as a small neighbourhood service has grown into a year-round property-care company built around something that has remained important to us from the beginning: taking care of people in the communities where we live and work.
We are not a large, anonymous company. We are the people who answer the phone, provide the estimates, do the work, maintain the equipment and get to know our customers. That personal connection has become an important part of our business.
How the business has grown.
Over the years, Karen's Snow & Mow Inc. has expanded well beyond basic lawn mowing and snow clearing. Today our services include:
- Residential snow clearing
- Weekly lawn cutting and trimming
- Spring and seasonal cleanups (contracted seasonal customers only)
- Shrub pruning and grooming
- Lawn aeration
- Fertilizing and weed control
- Topdressing and overseeding
- Planting and small landscaping projects
- Property improvements and garden restoration
- Commercial indoor plant leasing and maintenance
We continue to invest in equipment and services that allow us to take on more work while maintaining the dependable, hands-on service on which the business was built.
Our impact is local.
I don't measure the success of Karen's Snow & Mow only by how many lawns we cut or how many driveways we clear.
Our impact can also be seen in the relationships we have built.
It is the homeowner who doesn't have to worry when the forecast calls for snow.
It is the senior who can safely get out of the house after a storm.
It is the customer who has watched an overgrown or neglected yard become something they are proud of again.
It is keeping our spending, our work and much of our business activity within the community where we live.
And it is demonstrating that a small, family-operated company can grow while still knowing its customers personally.
After more than a decade in business, Karen's Snow & Mow Inc. is still fundamentally a neighbourhood business.
We have grown, added services, invested in better equipment and taken on larger opportunities, but the principle behind the company hasn't changed:
Do good work. Be dependable. Treat people's properties as though they matter, because to them, they do.
That is how we built Karen's Snow & Mow Inc., and that is how we intend to continue making a difference in our community.
OUR SERVICE AREA
Local service in your neighbourhood.
Our residential routes are concentrated in North Kildonan, East Kildonan and Southland Park. Staying close means less time travelling and more time serving our neighbours.
